They Said I Was Pregnant & They Were Right!

Protecting your marriage is so important, and one of the ways I protected my marriage was by ‘privacy proofing’ it! My husband and I were intentional about protecting our union so much so that when we got married, it was a shock to so many. Especially the church folk! Everything “happened so fast.” They said I was pregnant!

THEY WERE RIGHT!

I got engaged (‘Officially’), married and THEN had a ceremony all within a two-week time span. Yes, you read that correct! We did that AND also closed on a home within a TWO-WEEK week time frame. How was this even possible? Why did it happen this way? WE WERE PREGNANT!

T I M E L I N E

April 2015 – Began dating, ‘officially’

August 2015 - We received a word concerning our marriage.

October 2015 – Received another word in deep detail confirming the first word.

April 2016 – Began Marriage counseling, twice a month.

October 2016 – Got Engaged & Married!

November 2016 – Private Wedding Ceremony, Closed on our Home.

After the second prophecy about our marriage, we went into protection mode! My husband was not that big on social media anyway and for people who really knew us, knew we didn’t post about where we were, who we were with, and what we were doing. Our photos were privately shared between us and so were our goofy videos! We did however, occasionally post here and there but by that time, we’d been called out TWICE by the Lord lolol we knew we were under the radar, and so many people felt they were entitled to our relationship. “When is the wedding?”, “Did he propose to you yet?” and the most requested “Where is the Ring?” probably because they thought we were engaged already, LOL!

Yes, Yes and YES, WE WERE PREGNANT, this is why we protected our relationship, had a quick engagement, and ceremony. I can freely talk about this now because I know this is going to help someone.

PURPOSE is what we were pregnant with!!

We decided to get married for Purpose and IN Purpose and while purpose was forming we protected our baby AT ALL COST! For the parents out there, the first trimester is usually a critical one as there could be complications and the announcement is usually not announced until the couple is ready. We were that kind of couple!

We were also very active in our ministry, both teaching Sunday school and Leaders over the Youth ministry. While dating, we made a conscious decision not to show PDA in the church or around the youth, so there was a lot of things we considered in being private.

People probably assumed I was pregnant because I gained weight, nah, that was Happy weight.

People are FUNNY, but God will HUMBLE you, ok! Lol

Purpose is nothing to play with. The devil’s purpose is to steal, kill and destroy. So, we combated with exposing his purpose and protecting ours.

Our story may sound extreme for some lol, and our process may not look like yours but there are ways to protect your purpose! Wives, we need to know how to be Wakandan Women when it comes to protecting purpose, because your LEGACY depends on it.

Purpose and destiny was being manifested through our relationship.

You can always expect resistance when destiny is being manifested.

Birthing purpose was NOT an easy ride, but I am thankful to God for all of the people who were apart of the journey!

For those who said we were pregnant. You were so right!
